Why Did Taylor Swift Pick Dylan O'Brien?

While some may think that Swift and O'Brien have known each other prior to "All Too Well" it turns out the musician was actually a fan of the Teen Wolf star.

"Dylan was my first choice for the 'All Too Well' short film because he has that versatility I was looking for," Taylor Swift told Bustle. "I’d seen his work and heard nothing but wonderful things about him as a person. Ultimately I want to work with people who love what they do and come at it with enthusiasm because that’s how I approach creating things too."

The musician also said she's a fan of the actor during her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "I watch everything he’s in. I’m a huge fan of his," the singer said. "They really just acted their a**es off," Swift added, referring to Dylan O'Brien's co-star from the music video, Sadie Sink.

While Swift was a fan of O'Brien for years, the actor also revealed that he loves T-Swift's music.

"Give any of the rest of us six months in quarantine and we look back on it and we’re like, 'S–t, I should have done more.' Give Taylor six months in quarantine, and she writes 50 hit songs," O'Brien told Coup De Main magazine in April 2021.

"I’m a big 'Mirrorball' fan," the actor added. I love 'My Tears Ricochet' and 'Mad Woman,' 'Epiphany' [and] 'The 1.' There’s so many more, but those are my highlights."

In fact, it seems as if Dylan O'Brien has been a Swiftie for a while. In an interview with The Cut, the actor was asked about his favorite Taylor Swift album.

"Oh, wow. I mean, I’m a big 1989 person, and I love Lover as well. 'Lover' is a go-to karaoke song for me. I can’t wait for her new album! I was bugging her the other day about when it was coming out," that actor said, referring to Swift's new studio album Midnights. "I guess I could say I’m in a Lover era. I’m just so obsessed with it."
