Bobby Valentine is a former American baseball player and manager.
During his younger years, Bobby Valentine played football and baseball for the University of Southern California. Then, he landed a spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1968 Major League Baseball Draft.
He debuted on the Dodgers system in 1969 with the Ogden Dodgers. Then in 1971, Valentine returns to play for the Dodgers. He was traded to California Angels in 1973.
Valentine was known for his participation on New York Mets' Saturday Night Massacre. He left with the Nets during the Spring training in 1979. He signed shortly afterwards when he moved to Seattle Mariners and decided to retire the following season.
After he left the baseball world, Valentine took the managerial job for the Texas Rangers, Norfolk Tides, Chiba Lotte Marines, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox. He joined in ESPN as a baseball analyst since 2003.
